Education

Dr Serenity Aberdour graduated from York University in Toronto in 1998 before attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). With a firm belief in the importance of continuing education, Dr Aberdour continues to regularly attend conferences and training seminars to keep current on the latest developments in the field of natural medicine. She also continues to train in new therapies in order to add additional skills to her practice and to be able to provide a greater number of services to her patients.

Professional activities

After graduating from CCNM in 2002, Dr Aberdour practiced in Toronto while also working as a part time faculty member at CCNM where she helped to teach botanical medicine and diagnostic skills to naturopathic medical students.

In 2004 Dr Aberdour moved to Vancouver, BC. Since that time she has maintained a practice in Vancouver while also serving as Manager of Science and Education at a Canadian natural health product manufacturer where she is involved in the development of herbal and nutritional products.

Research

Dr Aberdour is currently involved in a pilot study on the use of naturopathic medicine to reduce cardiovascular disease risk in postal workers. This study is being conducted by the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in cooperation with Canada Post and is taking place at Canada Post facilities in 3 different provinces.

Writing and educational events

Dr Aberdour is a regular contributor to various natural health magazines and provides education about nutrition and natural medicines to a variety of audiences across Canada.

Balancing work and play

In her spare time, Dr Aberdour enjoys getting outside and being active as much as possible. She is an avid trail runner who has participated in various running events around the Lower Mainland. She also enjoys snowshoe running, rock climbing, hiking and a good soy matcha.
